Alvin B. Davis earned his B. A. degree in American Studies from Syracuse University and an L.LB. from the Yale Law School. Alvin previously served as the managing partner of the Steel Hector & Davis Law Firm and was managing partner from 2005 to 2010 of the Miami Office of Squire Sanders, with which Steel Hector merged in 2005. He is now a Senior Partner in Squire Patton Boggs, an International Law Firm of 1600 lawyers in 22 countries.
Alvin is included in Florida Super Lawyers as one of the top 100 lawyers in Miami. Alvin has been listed in The Best Lawyers in America since 1991 and has appeared in Chambers USA each year since 2004. In addition, he has been recognized as among Florida’s Legal Elite by Florida Trend magazine each year since 2004 and listed among the top lawyers in Florida by the South Florida Legal Guide each year since 2005. In 2013 he was named South Florida’s top appellate lawyer by the Daily Business Review.
Alvin’s past philanthropic efforts include as Board Member and then Chairman of the Coconut Grove Playhouse, and as a Founding Board Member and Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the New World School of the Arts. He spends as much of his spare time as possible with his thoroughbred, Current Ruckus, who he adopted from South Florida SPCA Horse Rescue.
