Laurie Waggoner • Executive Director
Laurie Waggoner co-founded South Florida SPCA in 1992. She is the registered agent of SFSPCA, appointed by the courts to investigate cruelty charges pertaining to livestock (mostly horses and ponies) and impound these animals during legal proceedings. Laurie, a single mom, has a full time job in another capacity but responds to her South Florida SPCA beeper 24 hours a day. When an arrest is made, Laurie testifies in court on her own time. She is dedicated to seeking appropriate punishment for those who inflect pain on innocent animals. She educates minor offenders as needed. Laurie is the recipient of the Miami Veterinary Foundation’s highest award.
Jeanette Jordan • President
President of South Florida SPCA since 2006, Jeanette has been a dedicated volunteer for animal-welfare causes for over 25 years. A multiple Emmy award recipient, Jeanette was a television broadcaster and producer by profession until she retired in 2007. She has served as a board member for the Doberman Rescue League, board member and obedience director for The Doberman Pinscher Club of Florida and basic dog obedience instructor for South Dade Kennel Club at Miami-Dade Community College. She has been recognized for special achievement by both the Miami-Dade Veterinary Foundation and the Zoological Society of Florida. Currently she shares her home with Chloe, an South Florida SPCA rescued Jack Russell Terrier. She is shown here at the rescue ranch with Mirage, a rescued Arabian gelding.

Ellyn Robinson • Vice President
Ellyn Robinson, Vice President, has been involved with the SFSPCA since 1996 and a Board Member since 1997. As an animal lover and horse owner she became involved learning about the need in the community. Since the other animal welfare agencies in Dade County are not equipped to handle horses, the SFSPCA fills an important void. Ellyn is inspired by the South Florida SPCA’s noble mission and she likes making a difference in the quality of life for these innocent animals. Since 1987, Ellyn has been the coordinator of an animal assisted therapy program at Villa Maria Nursing Center. She loves working with the elderly and is assisted by her “therapet” Venus, a golden retriever. She is also a member of the Humane Society of Greater Miami and serves on their Action Committee.

Roy Pressman • Treasurer
Roy Pressman, Treasurer, is involved in many  aspects of the organization.. He has a deep commitment to the welfare and protection of animals. An  engineer by trade, Roy enjoys interacting with volunteers and educating the public. Roy has been the past chairman of "Par For The Horse" . He enjoys training, riding and just spending time with his horses, dogs and cats! He served as Training Director for the South Dade Kennel Club and taught dog Obedience at Miami Dade Community College for many years.

Chris Clements
Chris Clements is the Vice President of a family owned printing company, Southern Display Printers Inc. After graduating from University of Miami with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering degree, Chris decided to stay in the family business with his father Ben and sister Christine Mendez. Since Par 2008 Chris’ company has donated the printing for the event. For over seven years Chris volunteered at Blowing Rocks Preserve on Jupiter Island, owned by the nature conservancy. At present, Chris and his Niece Noelle Mendez volunteer at the SPCA Ranch enjoying all the animals and try to give each one a little bit of affection. In the past Chris has taken care of dogs and cats but now is taking on the challenge of domesticating a feral cat which after time and patience is coming along nicely.

Tyra Hearns
After working 15 crazy years in the law enforcement field, Tyra opted for a much more laid back life wanting to incorporate horses.  Tyra grew up in the northeast and was afforded the best riding instruction in both Canada and the US.  Her love of horses goes back to her childhood & she has great memories of her Grandmother's stories of her horses in Poland.  Tyra is the President of PEBI Services, Inc., a pre-employment background investigation company, serves as the Compliance Director of a private care management company and involves herself with as much charitable work as possible.  She has two rescue dogs, "Ferris" & "Sloan" who was a rescue from the SPCA ranch.  Tyra is hoping to find the horse of her dreams while volunteering and adding that to the next chapter of her life. Tyra has passed her love of horses on to her two daughters Heather & Amber, who are both volunteers at SFSPCA

Christine A. Guidaitis

 A graduate of University of Miami School of Law, Christine is a partner at the law firm of Ver Ploeg & Lumpkin, P.A.  She is also president of the Miami-Dade Public Library Foundation, a member of the University of Miami Citizens Board and volunteers with Young Patronesses of the Opera.

Kimberly Rodstein
Kimberly Rodstein is the Vice President of H.R. Mortgage and Realty Company.  Although she had no prior experience with horses, Kim discovered the SFSPCA in 2001 and has been deeply involved with the organization ever since, helping to organize 2 major fundraisers: the Par for the Horse Golf Tournament and Holiday Under the Stars.  On a trip to Texas she became an accidental horseowner when she fell in love with and rescued Max, a neglected Thoroughbred.  She has since learned how to ride and is enjoying spending time with her horse.  She is passionate about traveling, horseback riding and caring for her horse and her dogs— Rokit, an SFSPCA rescue and Sofie.
