South Florida SPCA rescues another emaciated, injured Thoroughbred Saturday night (01/28/12).
The horse was found stray in SW Miami-Dade (SW 195 Ave. and SW 202 St.). The horse, identified by her tattoo, is named Foolish Treasure. She is in stable condition at the SFSPCA rescue ranch. Foolish Treasure ran her last race at Tampa Bay Downs Racetrack in 2008. “After 2008, she falls off the radar,” stated Jeanette Jordan, President of SFSPCA. “I’m just glad we got to her in time before she was hit by a car or starved to death.” FULL STORY
Wells Fargo Makes Generous Donation
SFSPCA President Jeanette Jordan, Vice President Ellyn Robinson, and Executive Director Nadine Johnson, accepted a $5,000 check yesterday from Wells Fargo Bank in Miami Lakes. The donation was made in celebration of the bank's conversion from Wachovia Bank to Wells Fargo Bank. We are grateful for this important investment in helping our horses find forever homes!
