4 Starving Horses Rescued By South Florida SPCA - May 26, 2010

While investigating the recent horse slaughter, Miami Dade County found and seized four malnourished horses. The South Florida SPCA was called in to rescue the horses.  The foal, only six to eight weeks old had already been  taken away from her mother! All four horses were transported to the South Florida SPCA Rescue ranch where they are currently receiving medical care, food and tender loving care. All four horses should make a full recovery. Also removed from the property was a tiny baby lamb. Donations are being accepted for the care and feeding of these rescues.

CHEROKEE & SAPPHIRE:  Cherokee, a handsome, 7-8 year old black Quarter Horse mare, was brought in with her 6-8 week old foal, Sapphire.  Sapphire closely resembles her beautiful mom with four white socks and a blaze, except that she has one clear blue eye!

CHLOE: A lovely 7-8 year old chestnut Quarter Horse mare

IVY: An Arab-cross grey mare, Ivy is about 14 years old
