Laurie Waggoner, SFSPCA founder and director of ranch operations said of the event and its location at Gulfstream, “We’re extremely excited about having A Day at the Races at Gulfstream Park again this year. Obviously the venue is gorgeous, but most importantly, Gulfstream Park and its owner, The Stronach Group, have implemented the strictest standards for humane treatment of Thoroughbreds both during their racing careers and in retirement through the Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance (TAA) and Florida Thoroughbred Retirement and Adoptive Care (TRAC) programs. By working together, we better the lives of many horses.”
