HOW TO BECOME A VOLUNTEER
FOR THE SOUTH FLORIDA S.P.C.A.

STEP 1	Join and become a member of the South Florida SPCA - Membership
STEP 2	Visit our volunteer website: http://www.volunteermatters.com/sfspca
STEP 3	Click 'REGISTER NOW' under 'NEW USERS'
STEP 4	Fill in your e-mail, first name and last name and click SAVE
STEP 5	Then check your e-mail for your username and password
STEP 6	Return to http://www.volunteermatters.com/sfspca and sign in
STEP 7	Update your contact information.
STEP 8	Send email to shelley@helpthehorses.com requesting a spot in the next orientation
STEP 9	Read and be familiar with the horse safety publications listed in the "SPCA LIBRARY" below
If you do not wish to have your contact information shared in the volunteer database, do the following: 1. Log into your account at www.volunteermatters.com/sfspca. 2. Click on ME > Click on PREFS > Click on DIRECTORY. 3. Check any items that you would like to exclude from view and click UPDATE. 4. If you decide to leave the organization at any time, you can also use this area to remove your record.
The following must be complete for you to be eligible to volunteer: You are a current member of the South Florida SPCA You have registered as a volunteer **You have attended an orientation class

	High School Students: College Students: Adults:	$15 donation $35 donation Must have valid college ID $50 donation

Signing up for Horse Care and Other Opportunities

Once you have completed the orientation/safety class, please go to http://www.volunteermatters.com/sfspca and sign up for "Horse care" and other volunteer opportunities. This is our system for matching volunteers with the available positions.

Sign-up for your desired day. Please consult the example at the bottom of this page. Once you have confirmed your assignment, we will email you the information needed to access the "Approved Volunteer Area" link below which will contains the address, a map and directions to our rescue facility.

All volunteers are required to sign a release form before starting any volunteer work.

You Must be at least 12 Years of Age to Volunteer.

All Volunteers under the age of 15 must be accompanied by parent or guardian.
