Albumasar was humanely euthanized on 12/8/17.
Albumasar is a registered Thoroughbred we rescued on October 9, 2017 after a citizen reported to police three emaciated horses being kept in unhealthy/unsafe conditions at a ramshackle boarding facility in the C-9 Basin. Besides being seriously malnourished, he could barely walk due to lameness with all four hooves rotted and overgrown, and suffering from painful summer sores. He has been put on a careful refeeding program, and was given immediate vet care. Albumasar and his rescue mates, Wide Open and Ajax, are in quarantine until October 30. Once he’s healthy and strong enough, he will be gelded as per our protocol.
