Hi, I’m Kelso!
Everyone around here winks and says I’m a real lady’s man, but the truth is I like everyone! Well, I am kinda partial to my gal pal Katie… I was rescued with her, and our stalls are next to each other which is great. I’m a big guy, but boy I was skinny when we first got here. We were kept in an awful area and were starving, and didn’t know if we would be saved in time. But we were finally rescued on March 22, 2016, a day I’ll never forget!
Once I gained my weight back, my training began. I’m a real gentleman with good manners, but once it was time for riding, it hurt. The people here called the vet and we learned I have arthritis in my stifles and hocks, and had to have my coffin joint injected in both my front feet. That definitely helped, but with all these issues, they said I shouldn’t be ridden.
Most people want to adopt horses that they can ride, so I’m going to have to wait a little longer than most before I’m adopted as a companion. Hey, I think I’d make a pretty handsome pasture ornament! But until then, I could really use a sponsor. Maybe it will be you?
