Serena is a victim of animal cruelty, rescued with Dulciena on May 20 in SW Miami Dade. She was abandoned by her owner, found malnourished and… pregnant. She will be in rehabilitation for many months, and will obviously require special pre- and post-natal care. We will post an update in the next few weeks with photos and progress notes.
6/14/17 UPDATE: We are officially on FOAL WATCH! Serena began leaking milk this morning and we’re getting very excited about the birth of her foal, and hoping for a healthy and safe delivery. Won’t you please consider contributing to Serena’s and her foal’s care? Any amount is gratefully appreciated!
6/16/17 UPDATE: Serena gave birth to a beautiful filly in the wee hours of this morning! See video below!
10/12/17 UPDATE: Serena and Euphoria certainly have had an eventful summer and beginning of fall, the pinnacle being yesterday when SFSPCA was granted full custody of them in court. Serena is an outstanding mom and takes great care of her baby girl. Euphoria is very friendly and social with humans and horses alike. Halter training and overall handling by our staff helped so much when we had to evacuate for Hurricane Irma. She’s had her first trailer loading and ride, all the way to Ocala! We can’t wait to welcome Serena and Euphoria back to the ranch soon, then focus on finding them their forever home.
