While the sun refused to peek out of the clouds, the players’ game spirit shone bright during South Florida SPCA’s 13th Annual Par For The Horse Golf Tournament last Saturday at Miami Shores Country Club. Thankfully the teams managed to get in nine holes of play before the skies opened up with a deluge of rain, ushering an early start to the festive after party and dinner banquet.

South Florida SPCA is grateful to the event’s sponsors, donors, participants and attendees, along with chair Nancy Piacentino, the committee, and the staff of Miami Shores Country Club for making Par For The Horse a wonderful success. Kudos to the always entertaining radio personality Joe Johnson, who served as emcee for a ninth year.

While fun was had by all, critical funds were raised that allow SFSPCA to continue its care for the 50 rescued horses currently at its Homestead ranch, as was awareness of horse abuse and abandonment occurring in Miami Dade. Our sincere thanks to all on behalf of our rescued horses!
